Boat-accessed reef with little to no current; a good north-coast fallback when south-coast passages are wind-affected.

About Panama

Panama is a relaxed north-coast boat dive west of Avatiu Harbour, built around hard-coral bommies and sandy patches. It suits guided beginners and easy reef days, with the sheltered north side often the better choice when south-coast sites are wind-affected. Expect Porites coral, fire coral patches and regular reef fish, including triggerfish, moray eels and trevally.
