Avatiu Drop Off sits west of Avatiu Harbour on Rarotonga's north coast, where a short boat ride leads to a steep wall dive. The site starts shallow, then falls away fast, so the main line is to follow the edge and keep an eye on depth as the reef drops into blue water. Fish life is strong in the shallows, with bigger predators more likely along the lip of the drop-off. Dry-season water makes the wall easier to read, but it remains a straightforward guided boat dive rather than a current-heavy passage.
