Gobbo Reef
A rocky, shallow reef in open sea that contains WWII-era minesweeper gear discarded by local fishermen. The mechanical sweep devices, used to cut the cables of moored naval mines, create an underwater museum-like scene. The site is surrounded by schools of Mediterranean reef fish, with sardines and breams commonly seen. Conger eels, nudibranchs, and groups of brown meagres sheltering under rocks are also described.
