Safety Notes
The site is open-water boat territory, so calm seas and basic drift discipline matter. Treat the current-fed sections and any rough-weather days conservatively.
Access Restrictions

Legal Notes
Follow the operator's qualification limits and Sabah marine guidance; do not push the site on rough-weather days or beyond your training.
Local Intel For Ella's Garden
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A strong Sabah fun-dive profile with barracudas, trevally, cuttlefish, octopus, squid, and reef structure that rewards slow cruising and good buoyancy.
Freediving
Not a freedive-first site. The boat profile and depth range make it better as a scuba day.
Snorkeling
Mantanani overall is snorkel-friendly, but Ella's Garden is better treated as a scuba route unless you are only using the shallowest edge under operator guidance.
