A rare aircraft wreck from the Russian occupation period lies in the Schwerin Outer Sea. The MiG-17 was long thought to be only a legend until it was located in 2013. The wreck may only be approached from the local base, and good buoyancy control is important to avoid disturbing fine sediment.
