Boat and scooter access make local guiding the normal way in.
Faro della Guardia di Ponente is a south-Ponza wall dive beneath the Guardia lighthouse, where a vertical wall, yellow gorgonians, and crevices hold groupers, morays, eels, octopus, scorpionfish, and other Mediterranean fish. Current is common along the wall, and scooter use helps reach the best viewing line for a more controlled, thorough swim along the deeper section.
