Macro observation density and seasonal timing.
Beach-or-boat Nishi-Izu site with caves, arches, and a macro-heavy route that also supports all-year night diving.
About Futou
Futou is a Nishi-Izu beach-and-boat dive with shallow sand, rocky terrain, caves, caverns, and arches that make it especially strong for macro hunting and night diving. The site is known for sea slugs, boxfish, blue-ringed octopus, shrimp, and other small life, so it feels like a slow search dive with structure to keep you busy. A local dive center also runs regular access, so it works well as a repeat visit when you want a mix of shore convenience and sheltered terrain.
