Mavericks is a boat-only reef dive off Ponta Malongane with a compact pinnacle rising from sand and plenty of reef life around it. It is a better fit for experienced divers than casual visitors, with coral, schooling fish, and macro subjects concentrated on a relatively small piece of reef. The site works best in calm seas because the surf launch and exposed approach make entry and exit the main challenge. Plan it as a focused advanced dive rather than a relaxed sightseeing stop.
