About SS Antilla Wreck

SS Antilla Wreck is Aruba's best-known wreck site, a scuttled World War II freighter resting off Malmok Bay on its port side with broken sections spread across the sand. Divers visit for a large, easy-to-recognize wreck profile, exterior swim-through scenery, and a strong chance of seeing reef fish, turtles, morays, and other life that now use the hull as shelter. Snorkel trips also visit the shallower upper structure when surface conditions are calm.

Safety Notes

Use a surface marker and listen for boat instructions on ascent because the wreck is a popular tour stop. Treat any penetration as a separate technical decision and enter enclosed sections only with proper wreck training, lights, and conditions.

Access Restrictions

Most visits are organized by licensed boat operators because the wreck sits offshore from Malmok Bay.

Local Intel For SS Antilla Wreck

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba

This is primarily an exterior wreck tour with a long broken profile, photogenic ribs and deck sections, and enough structure to keep advanced penetration choices separate from a normal recreational circuit.

Snorkel

Boat snorkel trips commonly stop here because the upper sections of the wreck sit shallow enough to show the outline of the ship and the fish life around it from the surface.
