It is described as suitable for competent open water divers, with timing important due to current. The channel has several shallow cleaning stations where manta rays may be seen in season. Outside the manta season, divers may encounter honeycomb moray eels, stingrays, lionfish, leaf fish, and whitetip reef sharks.
