About El Desierto
El Desierto is a boat-access volcanic-sand reef on the western edge of the Mar de las Calmas Reserve, reached from La Restinga in a short run. It feels like an underwater desert, with a broad sandy plain, lava ledges, cracks, arches, and a long garden-eel field that rewards slow scanning and careful buoyancy on a patient reserve dive.
