El Portal
El Portal is a deep Fuerteventura wall dive with a swim-through.
Local operator required
A short boat run with a local operator is the practical way to reach El Portal.
Advanced scuba on a short boat run: a compact wall, swim-through and quick drop into open water, with exposure that rewards calm sea states.
About El Portal
El Portal is one of Fuerteventura’s deeper reef dives, built around a compact rocky wall and a swim-through that opens into the blue. It is a big-fish site rather than an easy sightseeing run, with tuna, amberjacks, groupers and barracuda the main draw. Plan it as an advanced scuba dive with a short boat run, moderate current and open Atlantic exposure. It is best enjoyed when the sea is calm and buoyancy and gas planning are dialled in.
