Barracuda Rock is an exposed offshore pinnacle off Racha Noi with steep walls, sloping ledges, and a current-driven profile that rewards experienced divers. Hard and soft coral cling to the rock, sea fans add texture, and the blue water around the site can bring barracuda schools, tuna, and other pelagic visitors through the drop-off. It is best approached as a boat dive with solid buoyancy, a calm read on conditions, and disciplined team spacing.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
5m - 35m
Depth Note
Reported as a 5-35m pinnacle dive.
Best Season
October to early May, when Phuket boat conditions are generally calmer and visibility is more reliable.
Typical Conditions
Current-driven offshore diving, usually more demanding than sheltered Phuket reefs, with good pelagic movement and visibility that can shift quickly with season and weather.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Current management matters here. Keep the group tight, check buoyancy early, and skip the site if conditions are beyond the team's comfort level.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only; use a local operator and plan for the dive to be swapped or skipped if current or sea state builds.
Legal Notes
Follow normal Phuket dive-boat and marine rules.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Pinnacle dive to about 35 m with strong currents; generally considered advanced.
Freediving
Only for highly experienced freedivers with local support; it is not a casual surface-only site because current and exposure matter.
Snorkeling
Not a practical snorkeling stop. Barracuda Rock is better handled as a boat dive than as a casual surface visit.
