Local operators commonly run Koh Kong Yai by longtail from Chaloklum.
Koh Kong Yai is a compact rocky local site at the east tip of Chaloklum Bay, where short walls, small swim-throughs, and mixed reef patches fit into a short boat dive. The calmer southern side is used for easier reef laps, while the deeper outer edge adds soft coral, sea fans, and thicker schools of reef fish when visibility settles.

Best Season

Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Use the calmer southern reef for newer divers or snorkelers, and treat the outer edge conservatively when visibility drops or current starts to run.
Access Restrictions
This is typically dived by boat from Chaloklum rather than as an independent shore-entry site.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
The usual route links compact walls, short swim-throughs, and reef-covered rock, with the deeper southwest side holding more soft coral, sea fans, and larger schooling fish.
Snorkeling
In calm weather the sheltered southern reef and sandy patches can work for confident snorkelers, but visibility is variable and the main rocky features are better seen on scuba.
