Sheltered Bodrum bay with a shallow wall and easy training water.
Sheltered Bodrum bay with a shallow wall and easy training water.
Neco Bay is a sheltered Bodrum bay with a shallow rocky left side that eases into a deeper wall and sandy plateau. It is a good fit for try scuba and entry-level training because the bay usually stays calm in the right weather window and the current is typically very light. Plan for a relaxed shore dive, choose calm days when southerly weather is not pushing chop into the bay, and keep the deeper wall for comfortable buoyancy work rather than an aggressive depth push.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
0m - 35m
Depth Note
Wall drops to around 30–35 m before reaching a sandy plateau; left side is rocky and shallow.
Best Season
April to November, with the most comfortable stretch usually from June to September.
Typical Conditions
Sheltered bay water stays mild through the year, with low current and less wave exposure when southerly weather stays out.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
The bay drops from shallow water into a deeper wall, so keep an eye on depth and stay within training limits.
Access Restrictions
Best in calm weather; southerly wind and surface chop can make the shore entry less comfortable.
Legal Notes
Follow standard Turkish dive, harbor, and marine-area rules.

Scuba Diving
Suitable for try scuba, entry-level divers, and open water/confined-water training skills. A wall section drops to about 30–35 m and leads to a sandy plateau.
Freediving
Not a main freedive site; if used at all, keep it to the calm, shallow bay and treat the deeper wall as scuba territory.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is most useful in the shallow, sheltered part of the bay. The wall and deeper plateau are better left to scuba.
