Dane Rock

Shallow Newquay reef with kelp and rocky pinnacle.

Shore-access Newquay site near the harbour, tide-sensitive and best on sheltered days.

About Dane Rock

Dane Rock is a shallow Newquay shore reef for easy training dives and relaxed kelp-and-rock exploration. The site wraps a rocky pinnacle with flowing kelp beds, and the whole feature can dry at low water, so the usable window is tied to the tide and the shape of the coast. It is a compact, close-to-harbour dive that makes the most sense on sheltered days when the North Coast is not cooperating. Crabs, wrasse, bass, nudibranchs and other small reef life are the main draw.
