About Breakwater Cove
Breakwater Cove is Monterey Bay's classic training-friendly shore dive, where a sandy entry, nearby parking, and immediate access to a long breakwater wall create one of the easiest ways to get underwater in the area. It stays popular because the site combines simple logistics with a surprising amount of life, giving divers a manageable first cold-water route while still offering rockfish, nudibranchs, sea stars, crustaceans, and the occasional larger visitor around the wall and nearby reef pockets.
