El Toro, Malgrats and Cabrera give divers the best odds of seeing Mediterranean groupers, barracuda, dentex, moray eels and octopus around protected rocky reefs and Posidonia edges.

  • Cova Blava blue-light swims

    Best for Snorkel, Freedive, Topside

Loggerhead turtle nesting is still unusual but increasingly watched in the western Mediterranean.

    May to Oct

Seasonal currents and reserve fish recovery can bring barracuda, rays and other larger animals into the dive plan, especially around walls, points and marine reserve boundaries.

Always true for this destination
  • Surface chop can add a little more texture on exposed entries.
  • Wind Exposed Departures.
  • This is not a monsoon destination.
Seasonal cautions
  • Jul to Aug: Peak summer is excellent for water activities but requires earlier booking and stronger heat management.
  • Dec to Mar: Winter and early spring can still produce good days, but wind and reduced boat schedules make the plan less reliable.
