When to go

Best time to visit Uepi and Marovo Lagoon

Uepi is marketed as a yearround dive destination, but the easiest overall trip window is the Solomon Islands dry season from May to October, when rainfall, heat, and humidity are generally lower.

Best overall window

May to October

Drier, more comfortable season with average air near 27°C; May to August can feel breezier under southeast trades.

Outside that window

Hotter, more humid wetseason travel with higher rain risk, possible lowpressure systems, and greater disruption risk for small planes and boats.

Choose your trip style

Start with the overall answer, then switch only when scuba, freedive, snorkel, or topside timing changes the trip in a meaningful way.

Always true for this destination
  • This destination stays workable through the full year.
  • Surface chop can add a little more texture on exposed entries.
  • Trip Cancellations.
Seasonal cautions
  • Jan to Mar: Uepi notes that January to March can bring more persistent rain from low-pressure systems.
  • May to Aug: Southeast trades can make the air feel fresher but may add chop on exposed boat runs.
