Bird Island is a boat-accessed shallow reef-and-rock dive off Lake Munmorah.
Bird Island is a small offshore reserve near Lake Munmorah where boat divers work shallow sand, weed and rocky outcrops. The site is more of a reef-and-ledges circuit than a single feature dive, with small swim-throughs and plenty of structure to follow around the island edge. It suits confident open-water divers who are comfortable planning around weather and surface conditions. On calmer days, the sand and rock can hold stingrays, wobbegongs, reef fish and macro life.
