Dive Spot Guide•
Elsa's Reef
Shallow artificial reef north of Rye Pier with easy shore access.
Shore access from Rye Pier, calm-southerly windows, and a shallow reef line make this a good easy-entry dive when boat traffic is managed.
About Elsa's Reef
Elsa's Reef is a shallow artificial reef north of Rye Pier with a short shore approach, a small reef footprint, and a strong focus on macro life rather than big structure. The reef sits just off the pier line, so the dive is about staying aware of boat traffic, wind, and tide while you work the artificial reef and the surrounding sand. It is a good choice when southerly winds and higher tide make Rye feel calmer, and it rewards patient eyes with octopus, squid, and other small reef creatures.

Scuba Diving
Shore diving here is shallow and macro-focused, with the artificial reef and surrounding sand rewarding slow, careful work.
Freediving
Not a freedive target once boat traffic and the shallow reef layout are taken seriously.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is possible around the pier area, but Elsa's Reef itself is better treated as a short shallow dive with a flag.
