Golden Gate is a boat-access coral bommie rising from sand and anchored by a large swim-through at the base. Small overhangs add shelter, but the current that circles the site still shapes the dive. Schools of fish gather around the bommie, and sharks, rays, and barracuda may pass in the blue. The swim-through is lined with golden soft coral and hanging clams, giving the site its name and a distinctive finish.
Conservative baseline from public research. No community dives logged yet.
Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Depth Note
Plan the profile from the bommie, current, and boat briefing rather than a fixed published depth range.
Best Season
May to October
Typical Conditions
A sandy-bottom bommie with a circulating current, good tropical visibility, and a dive that feels more exposed than the reef profile first suggests.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Maintain buoyancy in the swim-through, watch the current around the bommie, and keep the structure between you and open water when needed.
Access Restrictions
Best for divers comfortable with boat entries, buoyancy control, and moving water; not a casual unguided site.
Legal Notes
Follow local marine-area rules and operator instructions.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A coral bommie dive featuring a large swim-through with three entry/exit points and small overhangs around the site.
Freediving
Not a freedive-first site; the swim-through and circulating current make scuba the better fit.
Snorkeling
Not a primary snorkel site; the main structure sits below the surface and is better appreciated on scuba.
