Kanaya Sunset Beach is a small private shore dive facility on the inner Tokyo Bay coast of Futtsu, Chiba, operated on a reservation-only basis for up to four groups per day. The site is best known as a macro-rich muck and rock environment where nudibranchs appear in high variety alongside moss blenny, pipefish, frogfish, and seasonal visitors including juvenile barracuda and small lionfish. Marine life concentrates in shallow water over mixed rocky and sandy substrate, making it accessible for beginner divers and a productive hunting ground for underwater photographers. The facility includes a dedicated sea pool for training and warm-up practice, backed by an unusually well-equipped shore setup with separate changing rooms, warm showers, a wetsuit drying area, and on-site AED. Visibility varies with conditions and rainfall but the sheltered inner bay position keeps currents and swell minimal year-round. Night dives are organized seasonally and the site draws a regular community of macro and photography enthusiasts from the greater Tokyo area.
