Morro de Toix is a boat-access wall dive with rocky ledges.
Use a local boat operator; the route is normally planned around the cape turn and anchoring point.
Morro de Toix is a boat-access cliff and wall dive between Altea and Calpe, where rocky ledges, sand pockets, and small caves create a classic Mediterranean profile. The route works around the cape and back along the wall, with damselfish, breams, nudibranchs, lobsters, slipper lobsters, and groupers in the rock and transition zones. It is best on settled days, when current stays moderate and visibility is less likely to drop on the wall.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
20m - 25m
Depth Note
The routed dive anchors around 20 m and follows the cape and wall through the low-to-mid 20s.
Best Season
Year-round
Typical Conditions
Best on settled days, when the wall is clearer and the sea is calm enough to follow the turn cleanly.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Keep buoyancy tight on the wall, plan the turn with the current, and watch the boat lane on ascent. The rocky transitions reward slow finning and clean trim.
Access Restrictions
Boat route and operator planning are part of the normal setup; timing the turn point matters.
Legal Notes
Follow local marine-area rules and the operator’s route instructions.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Best features include the 10–30 m drop-off plus overhangs and small caverns, with most coral life concentrated around 10–15 m.
Freediving
Not a primary freedive target; the wall line and depth band are better suited to scuba.
Snorkeling
Not the main use case; snorkeling is secondary to the wall dive and depth band.
