Sabalos is a shallow boat-drift reef on the southern Playa del Carmen line, with coral fingers, sandy patches, and small cuts that make the dive feel like a moving Caribbean reef pass rather than a static beginner circuit. Even though the profile stays relatively shallow, current is the site's defining variable and often turns the route into a guided drift. Divers usually come for schooling reef fish, tarpon, moray eels, rays, turtles, barracuda, and the occasional nurse shark moving through the coral and sand channels.
