Baia do Forte is a sheltered Berlenga bay dive set below the historic fort, where reef, wall, sand, and cave-like features combine into one of the archipelago's most varied easy-to-read routes. Divers usually move between rocky formations such as Whale Rock and the better-known cave sections, including Blue Cave and Lobster Cave, which make the site feel more playful and photographic than purely dramatic. The marine life is a big part of the appeal. Sea bream, octopus, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, and triggerfish are repeatedly mentioned around the formations, while scorpionfish, wrasse, crustaceans, and other small Atlantic reef life keep the walls and cave entrances interesting.
