Boat-access reef wall east of Papatura
Pilena Reef is a boat-access reef wall east of Papatura. The reef starts shallow and then drops along a coral-covered face, with the most active marine life in the upper section. Expect golden coral growth, nudibranchs, and occasional shark sightings. The site is better planned for calm to moderate sea conditions because wind can bring swell, even though the reef itself is fairly sheltered below the surface.

Scuba Diving
A shallow-to-moderate reef wall dive from roughly 4–20 m.

Only very experienced breath-hold divers should consider the shallow edge, and only in calm water.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is only realistic near the shallow edge on very calm days; the reef drops away quickly and is better suited to scuba.
