Bau de la Ferrera is a calm Cap de Creus boat reef.
Bau de la Ferrera is a calm Cap de Creus boat reef.
This is normally run as a guided boat dive from the Cadaqués / Cala Jóncols side.
Bau de la Ferrera is a compact Cap de Creus boat dive where a shallow shoal drops onto boulders and walls that you circle with the reef on your right. The site is easy to plan because the normal route is simple, the current is usually light, and the appeal is in the rock structure, coralligenous growth, and wall life rather than depth. It is a classic calm-day dive in the Cadaqués area.

Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Keep the reef on your right, stay inside the planned loop, and choose a calm day if you want the easiest version of the route.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only and park rules apply; the broader reserve can see stronger winter current even when this site stays calm.
Legal Notes
Located inside Parc Natural de Cap de Creus, with marine itineraries and protected biodiversity management.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Best as a guided boat dive with a slow loop along the reef and wall. The site suits careful buoyancy and an easy pace more than deep gas planning.
Freediving
Freediving can work on the shallow shoal in calm water, but the wall and deeper sections are better suited to scuba.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is secondary here; most of the site's value sits on the reef edge and wall below the surface.
