About Aquarena Springs / Spring Lake
Spring Lake is a controlled freshwater dive site in San Marcos where clear spring-fed water, a shallow basin, and a strict access program define the experience. The lake is not a casual recreational dive, but authorized scuba classes and approved volunteer diving reveal turtles, bass, garfish, and other freshwater life in calm 72-degree water. The appeal is the combination of clean water, conservation oversight, and a rare Texas spring environment that feels more like a living research site than a free-range dive spot.
