Lake Stamford, The Anchor is a shallow freshwater reservoir dive at the Anchor Marina side of Lake Stamford near Stamford, Texas. The bottom is mostly vegetated, with bulrush, cattail, pondweed, and lily pads instead of coral. It is a beginner-friendly shore site for training, controlled buoyancy, and simple navigation, but warm-season algae blooms can make visibility very poor. Plan on a relaxed freshwater dive rather than a scenic reef.
