Shore-entry reserve dive with kelp, walls, and close wildlife; advance reservations and a buddy team are required.

About Whaler’s Cove

Whaler's Cove is Point Lobos' signature dive area and one of the most popular dives on the Central California coast. The cove combines shallow kelp forest, rocky walls, and pinnacles with a compact shore-entry route, so it works well for new divers and for experienced teams who want a high-reward, low-speed site. Expect a reserve-style dive day with strict access rules, cool water, and wildlife encounters that can happen very close to the entry.
