Corfu is a land-based Ionian dive and snorkel destination built around clear limestone coves, walls, caverns, small wrecks, and dramatic topside culture. The island is not a liveaboard trip: most travelers stay ashore, rent a car, and book day boats with local centers in Paleokastritsa, Ermones, Dassia, Nissaki, or Agios Georgios. The west coast is the signature underwater zone, especially Paleokastritsa, where caves, arches, swim-throughs, and deep blue water sit close to UNESCO-listed Corfu Town and mountain villages. Corfu is best from May to October, with June to September strongest for warm-water scuba, freediving, and snorkeling. It is ideal for mixed groups because non-divers can spend dive mornings in Old Town, monasteries, castles, olive groves, beaches, or ferry day trips.
