About La Tortuga

La Tortuga is a dive site northwest of Playa Coco, named for a turtle-shaped island above it and a turtle-shaped cement block attached to the mooring line. It’s described as a strong site with multiple routes to explore and includes a small wreck. Marine life sightings are reported around the wreck and moorings, with whitetip sharks and, in cooler water, many stingrays. Boxfish and crocodilefish are also mentioned near the mooring area.
