Devana Kandu

Devana Kandu is a classic Vaavu channel dive built around a long central reef that splits the pass into two routes, creating a fast-moving drift with reef edges, caves, overhangs, and a steep outer wall. The site feels open and dramatic rather than enclosed, with the best action usually gathering around the channel mouth and the outside reef where current concentrates blue-water traffic. Divers visit Devana Kandu for the combination of soft-coral colour and pelagic movement. Grey reef sharks, eagle rays, schooling fish, and other passing predators are the headline draw, while the reef itself adds structure and shelter through ledges and cut-ins along the wall. Conditions can range from a pleasant drift to a more committing current dive, so it rewards divers who are comfortable with current changes, quick descents, and staying streamlined around the drop-off.
