Embiez-area rock with a fault, dense life, and a deep boat profile.
Embiez-area rock with a fault, dense life, and a deep boat profile.
Pierre à Duval is a compact rocky site in the Embiez area where a narrow fault and surrounding ledges concentrate Mediterranean life. The structure rewards slow, careful swimming along the walls and around the cracks, with groupers, conger eels, moray eels, barracudas, and smaller reef life using the shelter. Blue gorgonians and sponges add color to the rock and make the profile feel much richer than its size suggests.

Reported Depth
28m - 36m
Depth Note
Public listings place the site in the high-20s to mid-30s, with the main fault and rock structure around 35-36 m.
Best Season
Late spring through early autumn.
Typical Conditions
Compact rock relief, a narrow fault, and a slow, deliberate swim through cracks and ledges on a deeper boat profile.
Site conditions, restrictions, and access requirements.
Safety Notes
Keep a conservative depth plan, leave room for ascent, and do not force your way into tight cracks unless your training and buddy discipline support it.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only; best for experienced divers with advanced certification or equivalent.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
An advanced boat dive with a disciplined profile is the right fit; slow wall time and careful gas management matter more than chasing distance.
Freediving
Not a practical freedive target because the useful structure sits deep and the site is normally run as a boat scuba dive.
Snorkeling
Not a snorkel site; the main structure is too deep for meaningful surface viewing.
