Mary’s Place is Roatan’s signature south-side reef dive, known for steep walls, narrow swim-throughs, and coral-covered crevices. The site rewards controlled buoyancy and a calm, deliberate pace, with shafts of light filtering into the cuts and plenty of structure for photographers. Expect a classic Caribbean wall profile rather than a casual sightseeing reef: deep fissures, overhangs, sea fans, sponges, and a strong sense of terrain. It is best treated as a serious boat dive when the south side is open and the weather window is right.
