Algae Patch 1 is a Batanta muck dive in the Sagewin Strait, where liveaboards slot in tide-timed dives between Raja Ampat and Sorong. The bottom is mostly sand and rubble with coral blocks and patchy reef growth, so the real draw is close-up macro hunting rather than wide-angle scenery. Plan it with a guide who can choose the right tide window for nudibranchs, rhinopias, scorpionfish, mimic octopus, wonderpus, and other critters.
