Public descriptions frame Kuda Hoholha as a guided boat dive reached from Addu-based operators rather than a casual shore entry.
Kuda Hoholha is an outside-reef wall on the northwest side of Addu Atoll where a shallow rim quickly gives way to a steep face cut with caves and overhangs. Purple gorgonians, table corals, and healthier coral gardens toward the south attract turtles, morays, jacks, snappers, and larger reef visitors, while the nearby fishermen's channel makes disciplined boat awareness important on ascent.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
6m - 30m
Depth Note
Steep drop-off from about 6 m to 30+ m; caves/overhangs around 25 m and larger caves starting near 28 m.
Best Season
Year-round, with the clearest water commonly reported during the northeast monsoon from January to March.
Typical Conditions
An outer-reef wall dive with caves, overhangs, and coral growth on the face. Visibility is often good, and current is usually manageable but can strengthen with tide around the nearby channel.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Includes caves and overhangs at depth; use appropriate training/equipment and maintain awareness of nearby boat activity from the fishermen’s channel.
Access Restrictions
Most divers reach Kuda Hoholha with an Addu-based operator by boat; independent shore-style access is not the normal setup for this outside-reef wall.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Expect a boat-based wall dive with caves and overhangs, plus enough blue-water exposure to justify good ascent discipline and a surface marker if your operator requires one.
