Local operator required

A local operator is needed for boat access, current checks, drift or pickup planning, and choosing the best side of the reef.

A guided boat dive where mild days suit many certified divers and current-facing edges reward better awareness.

About Maafilaa

Maafilaa is a Lhaviyani Atoll reef and thila-style boat dive for divers who enjoy small reef life as much as blue-water passes. The reef slopes gently and holds mantis shrimp, octopus, scorpionfish, lobsters, butterflyfish, snappers, unicornfish, glassfish, and hunting trevallies, while grey reef sharks and eagle rays may pass on the outside. It is approachable in mild conditions, but the exact route should follow the guide's read of current, visibility, and the most active side of the reef.

Up to 25m

Depth Note

The imported listing gives a maximum depth of 25 m. Plan shallower reef portions for less experienced divers and reserve the outer edge for suitable conditions.

Lhaviyani diving is possible year-round, with the dry northeast monsoon often giving the calmest surface conditions and clearest water.
