Rutaki Drop Off is a sand-channel-to-drop-off dive off the south coast of Rarotonga, with a route that can stay on the reef plateau, follow the edge of the drop-off, or continue into deeper reef sections. It is known as a parrotfish mating area and also draws larger pelagics, while macro life hides along the reef. The best dive is a controlled, current-aware circuit rather than a loose swim.
