About Sinbad Gully

Sinbad Gully is an inner‑fiord dive in Fiordland built around reef structure and steep walls. The wall faces are known for black coral trees and tube anemones that give the site its character. Divers usually follow the wall and adjacent reef, watching for wrasses, perches, octopus, brachiopods and eels. Encounters with seven‑gill sharks and dogsharks are possible. A thicker freshwater layer can occur in the inner fiord and may change visibility.
