Shore-entry La Palma dive with easy access, a steep wall, and rich marine life.
Puerto Naos - Playa Chica is a shore-entry La Palma dive where a single beach access point reaches shallow training water, a steep wall, and deeper volcanic channels from the same start. The site stands out for black coral, lava flows, and a wide spread of Atlantic reef life, with moray eels, conger eels, rays, and tuna among the usual highlights. It is easy enough for new divers on the shallow side, but the wall and deeper profiles give experienced teams a much more dramatic dive.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
10m - 40m
Depth Note
The same beach entry reaches shallow water and a wall that starts around 10 m before dropping to 40 m.
Best Season
Year-round; May to September usually brings the warmest water and best visibility.
Typical Conditions
Shore diving stays easy to access, but the vertical profile quickly turns into a deeper wall and more serious depth change.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Safety Notes
The wall drops quickly from the beach entry, so buoyancy and turn-depth control matter once you leave the shallow zone.
Access Restrictions
Free beach access; no special permit is typically needed.
Legal Notes
Follow beach rules and any local dive-center guidance, especially for night dives and deeper wall profiles.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Suitable for a wide range of levels, with options for both shallow and deep profiles from one entry.
Freediving
Freedivers can stay on the shallow side and around the lava ledges, but the deeper wall is better left to scuba.
