Monkey Rock: Similan boat dive with boulders and swim-throughs.
Monkey Rock is a Similan Islands boat dive built around a sloping reef, granite boulders, and a web of swim-throughs. Hard and soft corals break up the route, and the site can produce reef sharks, barracuda, fusiliers, snappers, and plenty of small critters. It is best for divers who are comfortable adjusting to changing current and planning around the park's seasonal access window. The layout is more rewarding as a guided scuba outing than as a casual shallow stop.

Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Currents can be strong; plan the dive accordingly and use caution in swim-throughs.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only inside Mu Ko Similan National Park; trips run in the open season and must fit park hours.
Legal Notes
Park admission applies, the islands close during the southwest monsoon window, and some islands or beaches remain restricted for conservation.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Scuba divers can follow the sloping reef around boulders and through swim-throughs.
Freediving
Not a freedive-first site; the swim-throughs and current make it a better scuba choice than a casual breath-hold stop.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is only realistic in the calmest shallow sections; most of the site is better suited to scuba.
