Bawe South is a long, shallow reef running along one side of the island, making it suitable for snorkellers and beginner divers. Further out, the reef drops into areas with larger coral bommies separated by sandy patches where large barrel sponges grow. Marine life includes titan triggerfish, stingrays, kingfish, and thornback boxfish, with green and hawksbill turtles highlighted as key residents.
