Aumentos Pinnacle is an offshore Monterey Bay granite pinnacle where a broad rocky summit gives way to steeper walls and deeper ledges that make the site feel more dramatic than easy nearshore reefs. Divers come here for the structure itself as much as the marine life, because the pinnacle concentrates rockfish, lingcod, cabezon, nudibranchs, and larger visitors around a route that can feel calm on the inshore side and much more exposed on the outer face. This is not a casual beginner site.
