About Eagle Wreck
The Eagle is a 269-foot freighter built in Holland in 1962 and intentionally sunk in December 1985. It now rests as a wreck site in 70–110 feet of water, and its hull was split into two sections after Hurricane Georges in 1998. Marine life reported at the wreck includes tarpon, goliath grouper and other grouper, horse-eye jacks, Atlantic spadefish, bull sharks, blue runners, rainbow runners, and a resident turtle.
