Getting there and around
- Mali Losinj Airport · About 10 minutesutes by road
- Rijeka Airport · Allow several hours for the airport road transfer, ferry check-in, crossing, and island drive

Adriatic wrecks, island walls, seagrass coves, and wild Kvarner horizons
Overview
Cres and Losinj combine local day-boat diving with sheltered training bays, clear rocky coves, vertical walls, compact caverns, and deep wrecks. Base in Mali Losinj for Cikat Bay, Artatore Reef, Srakane Wall, and Susak Secca Margarina, or on Cres for house-reef routines and the advanced Lina Wreck. The islands are joined by road at Osor, so a rental car can support a two-base trip, but boats and site choices still depend on wind.
May to June and September are the easiest all-round months. July and August bring the warmest swimming conditions and fullest schedules, along with the greatest heat, traffic, and booking pressure. Non-divers get a strong parallel itinerary: Blue World dolphin education, the Museum of Apoxyomenos, Beli's griffon vultures, coastal walking, village exploration, and wellness around Cikat or Veli Losinj. This is a local-operator destination, not a liveaboard-led itinerary.

Share what the whole destination was like. Once enough independent reviews are approved, DiveJourney publishes anonymous patterns, not reviewer profiles.
Progress from sheltered historical-park and reef dives to current-washed walls, limited overheads, and wrecks reaching beyond recreational depth.
Land-based centers combine shore access, training, day boats, rentals, fills, and weather-driven site substitutions without requiring a liveaboard.
Blue World research, a marine Natura 2000 site, Posidonia meadows, dolphins, turtles, and Cres's griffon vultures connect water time to credible conservation education.
Museums, dolphin education, coastal walking, island ferries, old towns, beaches, and wellness give non-divers a complete parallel trip.
