Blackthorn (Wreck)
About Blackthorn (Wreck)
The Blackthorn is an artificial reef created from a 180 ft seagoing buoy tender that was intentionally scuttled after a fatal 1980 collision near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. It is part of the Pinellas County Artificial Reef Program and is also known as the Pinellas #2 Reef. Divers can expect to see a variety of Caribbean-style reef fish around the structure.
