Safaga's Panorama Reef North with drift lines, walls, and big-fish action.
Safaga's Panorama Reef North with drift lines, walls, and big-fish action.
Panorama Reef North is the Safaga side of the Panorama system, where a broad plateau and steep outer walls create a classic Red Sea drift dive. The north plateau is the calmer option inside a much larger reef, but it still runs like an open-water dive with hard coral, gorgonians, and big-fish potential. It is best for confident divers who want current, structure, and pelagic traffic rather than a mellow reef amble. Multiple passes reward more than one dive because the reef changes quickly from plateau to wall.

Safety Notes
Treat Panorama Reef North as a drift dive, keep buoyancy tight on the plateau edge, and do not assume the calmer north side is low-risk.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only; route choice depends on current and pickup plan.
Legal Notes
Follow the operator briefing and local Safaga boat protocols when choosing the north or south route.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Two dive options are described (north and south plateau), with depths averaging about 0–40 m+.
Freediving
Not a primary freedive site; only very experienced breath-hold divers should consider calm windows on the shallow plateau.
Snorkeling
Not a snorkel-first site; the plateau and wall lines are better suited to scuba and confident freediving.
