About Iru Thila
Iru Thila is a small, free-standing reef on the west side of North Male Atoll. The reef starts around 7 m and slopes down on all sides to roughly 30 m. It sits close to a channel, bringing regular water movement and nutrients. A key feature of the site is its large black coral trees.
